Mr. Naiburg recently relocated his criminal defense practice to Kingston, New York from Suffolk County, Long Island, where he had been the founding partner of Naiburg, Obedin and Weissman. He has practiced criminal law as both a prosecutor for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and is a well-known defense attorney for over forty (40) years.
Mr. Naiburg takes great pride in his vast trial experience in representing those charged with murder, burglary, kidnapping, drug possession, sale and/or conspiracy, driving while intoxicated and/or impaired, and other violation of the NYS Penal Law and /or NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. In addition, he has represented many persons charge with crimes in the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of the Federal Courts of the United States.
Upon graduating from Brooklyn Law School in 1972, Mr. Naiburg began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the District Attorney’s Office of Suffolk County. Shortly thereafter, he realized his real passion was in defending those charged with crimes, rather than prosecuting them. That moment defined who he was as he opened his first criminal law practice. He defended clients with a dedicated determination to see justice done, always making sure they received the best representation that could be found. His practice grew, as did his reputation as an intelligent, compassionate, and incredibly effective trial lawyer.
During his career as a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Naiburg has represented many defendants who cases have received both local and national media attention, including:
